Carpenter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Position Title

Carpenter ($24-$32/hour) — Reports to Superintendent

Construct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Installation of millwork carpentry, doors and other specialty items.

• Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs
• Construct and install structures and fixtures
• Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
• Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and door frames. Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Ability to work on staging / above ground
• Taping experience is a plus
• Willingness to perform non‑carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demolition, floor prep, etc.)
• Maintain cleanliness in occupied spaces
• Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
• Work in a safe, OSHA‑approved manner
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Provide a good work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks
• Willingness to learn new tasks
• Share knowledge and help train others
• Demonstrate consistent attendance
• Communicate and collaborate clearly with the team

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry experience
• Metal & wood framing
• Drywall
• Millwork and casework installation
• Doors, frames, and hardware installation
• Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned
• Valid driver’s license
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Proficient at reading blueprints or ability to learn
• Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level and driver index. Company will provide power tools
• Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Experience with computers and technology is a plus
• OSHA 10 training preferred; will provide if needed

• Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; arrive early enough to start work at 7:00 am and be prepared to work until 3:30 pm
• Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule
• Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned

Estimate of physical effort:

• Rarely (15%) – Lifting under 40 lbs.
• Occasional (15 %–40 %) – Lifting over 40 lbs.
• Frequent (40 %–70 %) – Dusty environment, using oil or chemicals, standing, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, sedentary work, outdoor work, precision type work, typing, computer input, stooping, driving, walking, answering phone, bending, reaching/pulling/pushing
• Continuous (Over 70 %) – Various tasks listed above, as needed

Pay ranges from $24-$32 per hour.
