Highway Equipment Operator

Overview

Highway Equipment Operator 1 – The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking qualified candidates for the position. This role will primarily operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, involving plowing, salting and sanding roads in winter, and assisting in general highway maintenance and construction work in other seasons, with a focus on operation of basic to moderately complex trucks and equipment, as well as manual labor.

• Operate a variety of trucks and highway equipment, including plowing, salting, and sanding roads in winter.
• Assist in general highway maintenance and construction work in other seasons.
• Perform manual labor as required.

• 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
• Possess a Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Tank Endorsement or be able to acquire within 1 year of employment.

• Regular work hours:
  Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
• Full-time position starting at $22.30 per hour.
