Press Brake Operator – Entry Level

This role focuses on the safe setup, adjustment, and operation of brake presses and related metal fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will learn to work with various materials, follow detailed work instructions, perform quality checks using measurement tools, and support production across different areas of the facility as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety in the work area.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate brake presses of all sizes, including specialized equipment such as Fiber Laser, Tru Punch, Tru Bend Robotic Bend Cell, and Pemserter.
  • Use the computer system to access work instructions and control plans, ensuring quality check intervals are completed as required.
  • Distinguish and correctly handle different material types, including aluminum, cold rolled steel, stainless steel, and galvanized steel.
  • Perform accurate quality checks using micrometers, calipers, checking fixtures, height gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions and quality.
  • Apply basic math skills to calculate precise dimensions needed to produce quality parts according to specifications.
  • Learn to read and understand blueprints and interpret work center dispatch assignments to complete tasks correctly and on time.
  • Follow directions and established processes consistently to meet performance standards and expectations for assigned work and daily tasks.
  • Support production by performing other duties in different areas of the facility when workload and scheduling require.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and demonstrate a self-starter attitude, actively engaging in learning new equipment and processes.

  • Experience with press brake, punch press, or blueprint reading is beneficial but not required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
