Press Utility - Rotary Press Department
Menasha Packaging is seeking a Press Utility to support our Rotary Press Department. This role assists press operators by preparing and maintaining printing plates, inspecting product quality, and ensuring production runs efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver and gather printing plates to and from machine centers.
- Clean printing plates using brushes and sprayers.
- Return printing plates to designated storage areas.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Assist press operators with setup, material handling, and production support activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press department.
- Monitor production materials and communicate any issues affecting quality or efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Ability to work safely in a production environment with moving equipment and personnel.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure/ruler accurately.
- Basic math skills, including measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow work instructions and customer specifications.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the shift.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stay focused and work in a constant state of alertness.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn printing press operations is a plus.
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to work rotating shifts if required by business needs.
- Dependable and reliable attendance.
