Maintenance Electrician – Heavy Industrial Operations

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support the engineering function at a busy coastal industrial site in Hartlepool. The role sits within a hands‑on technical team responsible for keeping critical lifting equipment and mobile machinery operating safely and reliably.

About the Role

You’ll play a key part in maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrically driven assets, including large cranes and mobile plant used in demanding operational environments. Daily work involves planned inspections, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring equipment is returned to service quickly and safely after breakdowns.

A strong background in heavy machinery electrics is essential.

Experience with harbour or mobile cranes, dockside equipment, or similar large‑scale industrial plant will be highly beneficial. Familiarity with PLC‑based control systems, AC/DC motor drives, and relevant electrical regulations is also advantageous.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes

* 5+ years’ experience in heavy industry

* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

* Minimum Level 3 / ONC qualification; HNC/HND preferred

* Ability to organise workload effectively and oversee tasks or colleagues when required

* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret maintenance history and diagnose recurring issues

* Previous experience in a port or marine‑industrial environment is beneficial but not essential
