JOB DESCRIPTION:

IEP Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS

• Alabama Certification in Special Education
• Minimum of five years of experience as a special education teacher writing appropriate IEPs

REPORTS TO:

Special Education Director

JOB GOAL:
To assist teachers and parents in the development of an appropriate Individualized Education Program for special education students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with special education teachers and general education teachers in developing an appropriate IEP for special education students
• Assists the special education director with referral meetings, initial and continued eligibility meetings, and reevaluation meetings
• Keeps, maintains, and files such reports and records as the system may require
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by a higher authority

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Terms of employment shall be consistent with the law relating to employment by a school system in the State of Alabama. Nine-month year, with a salary scale established by the Board for this position.

EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
