- Provide direct supervision & technical guidance to Linemen, Apprentices and Groundmen performing maintenance & construction on all electrical distribution and associated equipment projects.
- Communicate, demonstrate and enforce safety requirements and best practices.
- Possess comfort level with using new technologies (mobile devices/apps) and/or show willingness to learn.
- Understands the use and care of all required personal protective equipment.
- Knows the minimum approach distance for the voltage involved.
- Understands the proper wear and care of FR clothing.
- Maintains a safe working environment for all employees under their supervision.
- Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, and scopes of work.
- Communicate directly with General Foremen, Superintendents, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Line Crews and other project personnel as required.
- Understand and follow detailed construction schedules.
- Qualified to supervise gloving on all voltages up to 40 KV.
- Supervise the operation of a material handler bucket truck and a digger truck.
- Supervise the set up and operation of all wire pulling equipment.
- Knows all basic transformer hook-ups (single and three phase).
- Supervise the cover-up of the work zone for the work involved.
- Has excellent knowledge of rigging and wire pulling tools.
- Supervise the setting of poles in an energized zone.
- Supervise complex jobs.
- Supervise the phasing of circuits and checking of rotation.
- Supervise the restoration of service and troubleshooting of problems during restoration.
- Properly fill out an as-built report.
- Determine if skill level of employee is correct for the employee’s classification.
- Adequate understanding of switching procedures.

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Requires Class A level experience installing and maintaining overhead and underground power lines.
- Valid CDL A is required.
- First Aid Certification is required.
- Competency in CPR and pole top rescue is required.
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet is required. Prefer capability to work at heights higher than 60 feet.
- Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Abacus, Excel, KPA)
- Competent in operating ALL equipment including track bucket/digger.
- Certification in safe traffic control practices and public safety techniques per state and local regulations are required.
