The Account Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting team. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. The AP Supervisor will also mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead and manage the general accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.
This position is located out of our Hartsville, SC Office

We'd love to hear from you if:
  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in general accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
