Mortgage Loan Officer

You will assist members with their mortgage lending needs, describe the benefits of various mortgage products, cross-sell credit union products, process and make loan disbursements.

• Review borrower information, including income, assets, employment, and credit history to determine the ability to repay the loan.
• Calculate debt-to-income ratios, analyze credit reports, and identify potential financial risks.

• Approve, deny, or request additional information for loan applications based on thorough analysis.

• Ensure all applicants meet lender and government regulations, document decisions, and specify loan conditions as necessary.

• One year to three years of similar or related experience.

• Completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or
• Completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or
• Job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

• This role involves personal contact with others, inside and outside the organization, for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
• Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

• Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
• Must be able to use general office equipment.
• Must have good communication skills.
