We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing accounting team! The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Harvard IL office.
Pay: Up to $80K (DOE)
Type: Full time permanent position on site
Shift: M-THUR-0700-4:00PM - Fridays 0700-2:30PM
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and provide insights to management.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Assist with audits and tax preparation, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional Accounting / Control experience
, preferably in construction or mechanical contracting. - Strong knowledge of GAAP, accruals, accounting principles, and financial regulations and WIP.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Spectrum is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
