Research Scientist - AI Foundations - IBM

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop next‑generation AI algorithms and models that push the boundaries of foundational machine learning research.
• Leverage high‑performance computing resources and cloud platforms to train, evaluate, and scale large‑scale models.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including quantum computing, hybrid cloud, and systems engineers—to integrate AI breakthroughs into broader research initiatives.
• Publish findings in top‑tier conferences and journals, and contribute to open‑source AI frameworks.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the strategic roadmap for AI research within the organization.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML.
• Strong expertise in Python and deep‑learning libraries such as Tensor Flow or PyTorch.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑performance computing environments and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record of publishing peer‑reviewed research and delivering innovative AI solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
