EXPERIENCED MIG WELDER

We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented MIG welders to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for fabrication and welding of structural steel components used in Engineered-to-Order (ETO) products. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret fabrication drawings, accurately fit and assemble components, and produce high-quality weldments in accordance with IAW engineering specifications, AWS quality standards and production schedules.

Essential Responsibilities

* Read, interpret and execute engineered fabrication drawings, bills of material (BOMs) and work instructions.

* Accurately interpret welding symbols, dimensions, tolerances and fabrication notes.

* Layout, identify, mark and verify material dimensions using various measuring devices and supplies.

* Determine appropriate welding process, prepare and set up materials and equipment to perform Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) on steel components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical) using jigs, fixtures and related techniques, producing welds that meet or exceed company quality standards and design specifications.

* Ability to safely set up and operate fabrication equipment including welders, plasma cutters, grinders, saws, material handling equipment, forklifts, jib, overhead cranes and related tools in an accurate and efficient manner.

* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production personnel to troubleshoot processes, establish product improvements and manufacturing efficiencies.

* Crosstrain and perform duties in other manufacturing areas as needed, maintain production records, accurate timekeeping reporting and related duties as required.

* Follow all company safety and quality procedures while participating in continuous improvement initiatives and performing other duties as assigned, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Education, Skills & Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Technical certification, vocational training or degree in Welding Technology, Metal Fabrication or related field preferred.

* Minimum 2 years of MIG (GMAW) welding experience in a manufacturing/fabrication or structural steel environment preferred.

* Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and analyze engineered drawings, weld symbols and produce work to minimal fractional tolerances of +/- 1/16 inch.

* Experience in steel fabrication, weld sequencing, material identification and fit up, forklift, crane operation, and knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical aptitude.

* Self motivated, positive, self starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment with strong attention to detail, accuracy and commitment to workmanship excellence.

* Regular attendance, punctuality, good communication skills and attention to detail are essential job functions.

Physical & Safety Requirements

* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs with and without mechanical assistance with ability to understand and take direction, safely operate fabrication and material handling equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

* Ability to work overtime when required.

* Must wear required personal protective equipment as established by company.

* Provide and maintain a personal welding helmet and ASTM-compliant safety footwear (footwear reimbursement based on company policy).
