Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental & Cancer Epidemiology
Researchers in the Department of Environmental Health, Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, along with collaborators at the Channing Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women s Hospital and Harvard Medical School are looking for an exceptional postdoctoral fellow to join the Spatial and Contextual Exposomics and Epidemiology Lab (spaceelab.org). The postdoctoral fellow will be working under the guidance of Dr.
Francine Laden on a study of the impacts of multiple environmental exposures (e.g., air pollution, temperature, UV) and social determinants of health (SDOH) on mammographic features and breast cancer. There are also opportunities to lead analyses of the effects of other spatial and contextual measures (e.g., built environment, greenness) on health behaviors and chronic disease risk in several large prospective cohort studies.
Opportunities
The postdoctoral fellow will work with a dedicated mentor in a supportive research environment, with supplemental mentorship from a broader mentoring team. Training in epidemiologic methods, exposure assessment, geographic information systems, data analysis, and manuscript and grant writing will be provided.
Qualifications- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology, environmental health, or related field.
- Programming proficiency in SAS or R.
- Excellent writing skills.
- History of prior work on the effects of environmental exposures, SDOH, and/or the epidemiology of cancer (preferred).
- High energy, creativity, attention to accuracy, and ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
The start date is flexible from Fall of 2026.
