Truck Driver CDL A

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Harvard, IL — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Weekly pay average: $1630 (top earners can make up to $2000)
• Paid weekly
• Hours per week: 50 or more
• Solo‑miles pay: $0.60 per mile (2000 miles per week)
• Solo‑stop pay: $26 per stop (15 stops per week)
• Per diem: $40 per night (1–2 nights per week)
• Overnights provided by Ryder‑booked hotel
• Paid training
• Sign‑on bonus: $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days
• Loyalty bonus: $2500 at 6 months and $2500 at 1 year

• Schedule:
  
  Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday
• Shift times: AM or PM options
• Routes:
  Regional (IL, WI, IA, OH, MI, IN, KS, NE, MN, ND, SD, & KY)
• Tractor type:
  Day cab
• Trailer:
  Dry van 31′–53′
• Equipment:
  Electric & manual pallet jack; touch hardware supplies freight
• Endorsements:
  Hazmat within 90 days of hire; cost reimbursed
• Roadside maintenance 24/7 at >800 locations; trucks 36 months or newer

• Compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detecting and eliminating safety hazards; maintain accurate records & logs
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Provide appropriate CDL & endorsements for the position
• Class A experience: 9 months within last 3 years OR 2 years within last 5 years OR 5 years within last 10 years
• Pass Ryder drug test, background & motor‑vehicle check, DOT physical, & Ryder road test
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions; read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
