Ingalls Memorial Pharmacy Technician, Inpatient – Full‑Time, Rotate Pay Range

Job DescriptionJoin the fast‑paced Inpatient Pharmacy team at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work within the medication use process, compounding parenteral medications in the clean room, processing medication orders, refilling automated dispensing cabinets, and ensuring patients receive their medications on time. Under the direction of the pharmacy operations manager and a pharmacist, you will prepare and assist in the dispensing of medications, coordinate timely processing and delivery of orders, and perform functions required in unit dose, parenteral, and packaging areas.
You will also support inventory and quality assurance activities.
- Fill medication orders accurately through our automated carousel‑storage system.
- Process parenteral medication orders and prepare intravenous admixtures via an automated IV workflow system (Dose Edge).
- Process stock replacement requests for nursing and ancillary units.
- Prepackage tablets, capsules, liquids and other medications using our various packaging systems.
- Prepare IV admixtures and compounds, including chemotherapy.
- Order, receive and stock pharmacy medications and supplies.
- Willing to work at multiple locations as needed (off‑site infusion center locations in Flossmoor and Tinley Park).
- Ensure that compounding and newly constructed areas and related equipment are cleaned, sanitized and maintained in compliance with company policies, USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
- Plan and perform daily tasks to provide department services under a pharmacist’s direction.
- Meet the needs of patients and customers, responding in a courteous, positive and timely manner.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must hold a current, valid license as a pharmacy technician in the State of Illinois.
- Must hold a current valid pharmacy technician certification, except if grandfathered in.
- General hospital experience as a licensed pharmacy technician is preferred.
