Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech), Ingalls Emergency Department - Full-Time, Evenings
UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial is hiring an Emergency Room Technician to support the registered nursing staff in delivering high quality patient care in the Emergency Room. The ERT must demonstrate expertise and competency in all paramedic skills according to Illinois State law.
Base Pay Range$23.00/hr – $28.00/hr
Responsibilities- Assist and augment registered nursing staff in the Emergency Room.
- Demonstrate all paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law.
- Provide patient assistance, monitoring, and transport as required.
- Interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and the public.
- Adapt work schedules and activities based on departmental needs.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain relevant certifications or licenses as applicable.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform patient assistance tasks with minimal supervision.
- Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT-B);
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA); or student nurse enrolled in an RN program with clinical rotations. - Possess CPI certification or attain it within 60 days of hire.
