Patient Transporter

Patient Transporter (Full Time and Part Time)

Location:

Ingalls Memorial Hospital – 1 Ingalls Drive, Harvey, IL 60426.

Schedule:

Full‑time and part‑time shifts, varying days and hours, with rotating weekends.

Requirements:
Previous patient care experience and a valid CPR certification preferred.

Fixed Pay Rate: $15.45 per hour.

Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient‑related items to their destinations.

• Properly and safely transport patients, securely handling IVs, drainage tubes, etc.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to complete transport duties.
• Demonstrate competency with all specific age groups.
• Ensure safe, timely, and accurate transport to the designated destination using the proper equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, or reception and dispatch.
• Maintain patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation.
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report any needed repairs.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient‑rights policy as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
