Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring an active IL RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Care for a diverse adult medical-surgical patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6
• Night shift (3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charting is done using Epic EMR
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No block scheduling is available
• Time off requests are limited to 7 days
• Vaccination exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of offer
• Completion of required pre-start modules is mandatory

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a direct supervisor
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
