Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active IL RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and prior hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting

• Assignment is 13 weeks in length

• Patient care ratio is 1:6

• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 to 19:15

• Weekend work is required every other weekend

• Floating to other units is required

• Charting is done using Epic

• Block scheduling is not available

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off is allowed during the assignment

• Local candidates are not accepted

• Must provide safe and effective nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population

• Weekend rotations and floating to other Med/Surg units may occur

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at the time of consideration

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility

• Pending licenses will not be accepted
