American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I Trauma ED experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Work in a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department treating a combined adult/pediatric population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- 13-week assignment length
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Epic charting system used
- Active IL RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, including prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience managing trauma, shock, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputations
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
- Experience with ortho trauma, splinting, and triage
- Proficiency with IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patients
- Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including suicidal and violent behavior situations
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric, neurological, and respiratory cases
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE protocols as part of standard care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Former UCM, PRN, or Ingalls permanent staff must have a 7-month gap in employment before returning as a traveler
