American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring IL RN license and critical care experience including ventilator, arterial, and central line management.

• ICU unit setting within a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Epic charting system used
• No block scheduling accommodations

• Active IL RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and respiratory/thoracic management
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) experience preferred
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
• Current Nursys report required (pulled within the last 2 weeks)

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
• Complete non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) as part of onboarding
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine locations (including Ingalls) must have been separated for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
