As a charter school, Jefferson RISE sets its own academic calendar and daily schedule based on the needs of its students. Teachers generally work from mid-July (beginning with professional development before students arrive) through late May. New 10-month staff members will report on July 20th, 2026 for Summer Professional Development.
Workdays are generally 7:10 AM-3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Mondays extend to 4:30 PM and include mandatory Professional Development time. Anticipated school hours and days vary annually based on changes to the school calendar.

Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking a highly organized, objective, and detail-oriented Student Conduct & Hearing Officer to serve as the school's primary investigator and hearing officer responsible for ensuring the fair, consistent, and timely application of student conduct policies and procedures.
The Student Conduct & Hearing Officer conducts investigations, reviews evidence, determines findings, assigns disciplinary outcomes, supervises accountability measures, and maintains accurate records related to student conduct matters. This position protects instructional time and supports school safety through objective decision-making, procedural integrity, and consistent implementation of school policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigation and Fact Finding
- Conduct investigations involving major student conduct violations
- Interview students, staff, and witnesses and collect relevant evidence
- Review written statements, video footage, and supporting documentation
- Determine findings based on evidence and established school policies
- Maintain complete, accurate, and defensible records of investigations and outcomes
- Ensure investigations are completed thoroughly, within established timelines, and meet all legal compliance requirements
- Apply student conduct policies consistently and objectively
- Determine and assign disciplinary outcomes aligned to school policies and procedures
- Facilitate disciplinary conferences, hearings, and resolution meetings
- Coordinate and supervise student accountability and intervention sessions, and other assigned disciplinary consequences including but not limited to lunch detention, after-school detention, Saturday behavior academy, etc.
- Maintain records regarding assigned consequences, attendance, completion, and compliance
- Communicate consequence assignments, expectations, and completion requirements to students and parent/guardians
- Monitor compliance with assigned disciplinary outcomes and determine appropriate follow-up actions when necessary
- Facilitate student reflection and accountability activities connected to disciplinary outcomes
- Maintain complete and accurate student conduct records in all school student information systems
- Prepare investigation summaries, findings reports, and disciplinary documentation
- Ensure documentation meets school expectations and applicable legal requirements
- Maintain organized records and case files
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and documentation reviews as needed
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding major student conduct matters
- Communicate investigation findings and outcomes to students and families
- Conduct parent conferences and re-entry meetings
