Job DescriptionThe Financial Advocate Floater is a branch employee who has a "home" location but travels to any branch within their region that needs assistance. This role involves providing exceptional member service, handling routine transactions, identifying and recommending financial products, and maintaining member relations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Travels to any branch within the assigned region.
- Greets and assists every member with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Accurately processes deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and other transactions.
- Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves member and internal inquiries regarding policies, practices, and products.
- Conducts consultative conversations with members to cross‑sell opportunities such as checking accounts, personal and auto loans, credit cards, refinances, debt consolidation loans and refers mortgage and commercial loans to the appropriate departments.
- Communicates credit union products and services, meeting or exceeding referral and sales goals set by the branch.
- Interprets credit reports to offer the best solutions to members.
- Efficiently processes loan documents.
- Assists with branch opening and closing procedures, prepares currency and coin for shipment, verifies cash drawers/currency shipments/vault totals, and supports branch operations by performing administrative tasks and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
- Participates in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, following security procedures to protect against fraud and ensuring member confidentiality.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
- Up to 1 year of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- Experience in a sales and/or customer service environment.
- High school education or GED.
- Professional courtesy and tact, essential for personal contact with customers.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility.
- Proficiency with database software and MS Office suite.
Must be able to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, view customer information, talk or hear, stand and walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Working ConditionsMust be able to perform work indoors in climate‑controlled shared space with minimal noise.
