Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain awareness of community needs, assist in planning and implementing community action activities and other special projects. Maintain a roster of resource agencies, inform residents, involve community personnel and businesses to resolve problems. Preserve work records, prepare reports for professional staff on community status changes. Become familiar with JEFFCAP program requirements to qualify clients, set up appointments, conduct client interviews, review program offerings and process accordingly.
Prepare monthly reports of activities undertaken. Oversee community activities held at the center. Requirement for personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance for business use.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science.
- Possession of an Associate's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science, plus at least two (2) years of work experience providing guidance or counseling to families or individuals seeking assistance from government-funded community services programs.
- Possession of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field of study, plus at least three (3) years of work experience providing guidance or counseling to families or individuals seeking assistance from government-funded community services programs.
Proficiency in English and Spanish (fluent in both languages).
