The Connecticut Dental Health Partnership is the dental plan for HUSKY Health, serving children, adults, and families enrolled in Connecticut’s Medicaid and CHIP programs. The plan is administered by Bene Care Dental Plans under contract with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, ensuring access to quality, affordable dental care statewide. The organization focuses on improving oral health outcomes, reducing barriers to care, and supporting providers who serve HUSKY Health members.

The Community Engagement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Northwest Harwinton, CT. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and HUSKY Health members to promote awareness of available dental benefits and services. Day-to-day tasks include organizing outreach events, conducting educational presentations, and developing materials that help eligible individuals understand and use their dental coverage.

The specialist will respond to community inquiries, gather feedback from stakeholders, and collaborate with internal teams to improve member experience and access to care. This role also involves tracking engagement activities, reporting outcomes, and identifying opportunities to expand outreach in underserved areas.

• Demonstrated skills in community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and public speaking.
• Experience in health education, social services, or public health, preferably related to dental or medical benefits.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills, including the ability to work with diverse populations.
• Organizational and project coordination abilities, including event planning and basic data tracking or reporting.
• Comfort with using common office software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) and learning program‑specific systems.
• Ability to work independently on‑site, travel locally for community events, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Knowledge of Medicaid/CHIP or public health programs in Connecticut is beneficial.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as public health, social work, communications, or a related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
