School Psychologist – Harwinton Consolidated Elementary School

The School Psychologist plays a vital role in supporting the healthy development of students within the entire school community, with a particular focus on students in our RISE and BEST programs. The Psychologist provides both direct and indirect services through interventions, instructional support, and counseling to help students build social-emotional skills and strengthen mental health competencies.

A key responsibility of this position is addressing barriers to learning by offering proactive, preventative, and responsive services to students, families, and the school community. The Psychologist is a key member of the team and must have strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with all stakeholders including students, families, teachers, BTs, and related service providers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who present with significant mental health or behavioral challenges and who may be at risk of more restrictive placements. This individual will be skilled at teaching coping and social skills, developing student resilience, and fostering inclusion so that students can succeed within the least restrictive environment.
