Job SummaryCNC Machinist III is a senior level position to perform complex lathe and mill tasks, demonstrate leadership and train machinists. Responsibilities include manufacturing parts within a cell, performing set‑ups on manual and CNC turning/milling centers, editing CNC programs, and developing simple CNC programs using machine controls.
Essential Job Functions- Serve as a machining Subject Matter Expert in quality and cost areas.
- Perform new and complex set‑ups and operate equipment to produce high quality parts within prescribed time.
- Debug CNC programs and document completed setups.
- Apply GD&T and interpret drawings to manufacture parts to close tolerances.
- Maintain equipment via preventive maintenance schedules.
- Follow quality procedures and perform inspections, including CMM checks.
- Document inspection reports and verify calibration of inspection equipment.
- Ensure safe operations and proper tool selection.
- Troubleshoot problems and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers.
- Train new operators on basic CNC operations and GD&T interpretation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of CNC Milling / Turning experience in a job shop environment.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
