Status: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week; 2 in-office days, 1 hybrid day)
Summary Of The PositionThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to clients receiving outpatient mental health services at Savia Community Counseling.
This role functions as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and supports a collaborative, client-centered model of care.
The PMHNP provides services to clients who have already completed an initial therapy evaluation and works closely with therapists and leadership to ensure continuity, quality, and appropriateness of care. This position requires strong clinical judgment, timely documentation, and collaboration with internal teams.
In addition to psychiatric evaluations and medication management, the PMHNP may provide clinical oversight of the agency's Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program, including patient evaluations, initial motor threshold mapping, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical monitoring.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Service Delivery- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations in an outpatient setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized medication treatment plans
- Provide ongoing medication management, monitoring of symptoms, and adjustment of treatment as clinically indicated
- Assess risk, safety, and level of care needs, making appropriate referrals when necessary
- Educate clients (and families when appropriate) on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and potential side effects
- Provide psychiatric services both in person and via telehealth in accordance with New Jersey regulations and organizational policies
- Collaborate closely with outpatient therapists, supervisors, outpatient program manager and other providers to ensure coordinated and integrated treatment planning
- Participate in clinical consultations, case discussions, and interdisciplinary meetings as requested
- Communicate effectively with referral sources and internal team members to support continuity of care
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EHR)
- Ensure all documentation meets agency, payer, and regulatory requirements
- Comply with HIPAA, professional standards, and ethical guidelines
- Stay current with evidence-based psychiatric practices and psychopharmacology standards
- Participate in required trainings and continuing education activities

- Evaluate patients for appropriateness of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment through psychiatric assessment and clinical determination.
- Perform the initial TMS motor threshold determination (mapping) and establish individualized treatment parameters in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and evidence-based clinical practices.
- Develop and approve each patient's TMS treatment plan and provide clinical oversight throughout the course of treatment.
- Collaborate closely with the TMS Technician to ensure safe and accurate implementation of the prescribed treatment protocol.
- Monitor patient progress throughout treatment, evaluate clinical response, address side effects, and make treatment adjustments when clinically indicated.
- Re-evaluate patients at appropriate intervals to determine treatment effectiveness and the need for continuation, modification, or completion of TMS therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to TMS evaluations, mapping, treatment plans, and follow-up visits within the electronic health record (EHR).
