  • $35.34 per hour; 2-3 days per week, up to 18 hours per week; flexible scheduling
  • This position is part time and does not qualify for benefits
Position Summary

The Interim Senior Center Coordinator supports the day to day operation of the Hastings Senior Center and helps provide welcoming, engaging programs and activities for adults age 50 and older. This temporary position will primarily focus on Senior Center programming, communication, participant support, volunteers, and limited assistance with mini tours.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support Senior Center programs, activities, and special events.
  • Maintain the Senior Center calendar and help ensure programs and activities run smoothly.
  • Communicate with Senior Center participants regarding upcoming programs, events, and activities.
  • Assist with basic Senior Center communications and promotional materials, including newsletter information.
  • Welcome participants and respond to questions about Senior Center programs and community resources.
  • Work with and support Senior Center volunteers.
  • Assist with registration, program records, payments, and other basic administrative tasks.
  • Provide limited assistance with planning and coordinating Community Education mini tours, including reservations and participant communication.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and positive environment at the Senior Center.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with older adults, community education programs, recreation, or a related area preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work positively with participants, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Comfortable using email, basic computer programs, and registration or record keeping systems.
