Assistant Head Miller
Oversee daily operations of the mill, ensuring departmental adherence with Ardent Mills values, policies, and procedures. Promote safety, quality, milling efficiency, and contribute to the company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities- Identify operational discrepancies and provide focused solutions with a timeline for corrective action.
- Work with the milling team to continuously improve the production process, safety, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure efficient maintenance of mills and engage the team to develop technical excellence in equipment design, process knowledge, mill flow, and project development.
- Collaborate with the Technical Milling group to establish effective training for the workforce, new millers, and interns.
- Provide support to plant departments and engineering for new projects and advanced problem solving.
- Execute and commission capital projects in partnership with engineering and plant teams.
- Define and lead value‑added projects and systemic changes as directed by the Director of Milling.
- Apply published key performance metrics to improve operations through benchmarking.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of milling and leadership experience, or high school diploma/GED with 5–6 years of milling and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create and modify CAD drawings of mill layouts, equipment components, and flow sheets.
- Basic knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting cleaning, milling, and conveying systems.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Wear personal protective equipment as required (e.g., safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection, respirator when necessary).
- Work rotating schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and 7‑day weeks.
- Operate in a continuous 24/7 process with heat/cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, and elevated work locations.
- Perform administrative tasks and use a computer.
- Travel 5–15% and be willing to relocate for career opportunities.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

CompensationBase pay $76,000–$96,000, plus incentive eligibility with a target bonus of 5% of OIP. Additional earning potential based on experience.
