Overview
Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Location: Hastings, MN
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
Position Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $83,000.00 - $ per year
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry.
- Expertise in using precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc and Haas.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with G‑Code and M‑Code programming or CAM software.
- Experience with multi‑axis or live tooling lathe machines.
- Set up and operate CNC lathes (loading programs, selecting tooling, adjusting offsets, fixture setup).
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications.
- Perform machine start‑up and shut‑down procedures.
- Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances.
- Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed.
- Perform in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during machining.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes for optimal performance and longevity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures.
- Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary.
- Make adjustments to existing CNC programs (offsets, minor edits) at the machine control.
- Accurately complete all necessary production documentation, logs, and reports.
