This position is designated as part-time. The work schedule will include at least 48 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. This position is initially eligible for health care benefits.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides licensed nursing care to Residents at the Minnesota Veterans Home (MVH) and administers medications and treatments to Residents as ordered by the Residents practitioner under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Primary functions include delivery of Resident centered care; delivery of skilled procedures within the LPN scope of practice as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, in accordance with current Federal, State and Veterans Administration regulations.
The Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings is a Domiciliary (DOM) which is an independent living community for Veterans. It provides a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. Minimum Qualifications- Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions, and in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire
- Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care
