Job Summary Under the direction of the building principal, responsible for ensuring the security of the building and grounds, and providing monitoring/supervision and control of non-classroom areas during the school day. Responds to emergencies, interpersonal conflicts, and may direct students in such situations.

- Develops personal connections with students in order to maintain an orderly school environment.
- Monitors hallways to ensure students have passes; escorts them back to class if they don t.
- Monitors hallways, ensuring that only authorized individuals are in the buildings/halls; informs administration of unauthorized personnel on campus.
- Monitors building restrooms to ensure students are not loitering or damaging facilities; includes two to three late night/overnight shifts during school year.
- Monitors security of buildings, ensuring doors close/secured at all times.
- Intervenes in altercations between students, as appropriate.
- Monitors students for drug, alcohol, and/or tobacco use, immediately escorting them to the office if found.
- Monitors building entrances/exits as requested; escorts individuals as requested.
- Assists in monitoring student behavior in the lunchroom.
- Monitor/patrol school building grounds/parking lots as requested.
- Documents incidents as requested.

Work Requirements And Characteristics
- HS diploma or GED
Required Work Experience In Addition To Formal Education/Training
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a diverse community,
- Experience supervising adolescents strongly preferred.
License/ Certification
Minnesota Drivers License and ability to drive
