Overview
Position Purpose The Social Work for Family Resource Coordination serves as the vital link between the Hastings School District and external social service agencies, including county, state, non-profit, and mental health organizations. This role functions as the mandated District Liaison for McKinney-Vento (Homeless), Foster Care (Fostering Connections), and Migrant Programs. The Social Worker for Family Resource Coordination will be responsible for identifying, supporting, and advocating for families and students who are precariously housed, involved in migratory work, or navigating the foster care system, while also providing social work support for early childhood programming.

This role functions as the mandated District Liaison for McKinney-Vento (Homeless), Foster Care (Fostering Connections), and Migrant Programs. The Social Worker for Family Resource Coordination will be responsible for identifying, supporting, and advocating for families and students who are precariously housed, involved in migratory work, or navigating the foster care system, while also providing social work support for early childhood programming.
Primary Roles & Areas Of Focus
- McKinney-Vento Liaison:
Identify and support families experiencing homelessness, report required data, and represent the district at MAEHCY meetings. - Foster Care Liaison:
Collaborate with county workers, facilitate the completion of Educational Best Interest Determination (EBID) forms, and coordinate necessary transportation for students in care. - Migrant Program Coordinator:
Identify eligible students, support migrant families, and manage data reporting via the Migrant Student Information Form (MSIF). - Clinical Supervision:
Provide up to 4 hours of supervision per month for district social workers seeking licensure (requires 30 hours of prior supervisor training). - Program Leadership:
Lead the district CARE Team (formerly Crisis Team) and monitor Behavior Threat Assessment workflows. - Administrative Oversight:
Oversee MA PCA billing supervision and manage interns as applicable.
Qualifications
- Education:
Master s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university - Certification/License:
- MN Certification as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
- 30 hours of clinical supervisor training (for licensure supervision duties).
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator s License.
- Experience:
Prior experience as a School Social Worker and Supervision of Social Workers working toward their clinical license
Compensation/Benefits
- Salary Range per the Teacher Master Agreement $57,829 - $88,905
