Position Summary
Communicate daily with appropriate NPPD plant personnel, NEBCO office personnel and supervisor as needed for instruction. Oversees, ensures, and performs safe and efficient operations for loading, shipping, and ticketing of ash products as well as disposal when needed at the power plant. The Foreman will need to fill in where needed and actively be involved to ensure tasks are completed. Abides by the Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.
Reliable attendance required.
- Operate front‑end loaders, motor graders, semi‑trucks, and car movers safely inside the NPPD plant.
- Load fly ash and bottom ash into market trucks and/or rail cars.
- Ensure appropriate tickets are written for orders according to company and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and plan daily operations, delegate work to appropriate personnel, and perform tasks as needed.
- Maintain shop, equipment, office, restroom, and scale rooms according to safety standards.
- Perform daily checks on brakes, tires, springs, engine oil, and other essential equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance such as greasing, oil changes, tire changes, and other required tasks.
- Work with NEBCO corporate teams to orient, onboard, and train personnel.
- Supervise plant personnel, provide guidance and training as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience operating front‑end loaders, motor graders, and semi‑tractors in a construction or related field.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance program.
- Must pass a background check, pre‑employment physical, and drug screening.
- Physical ability to lift and/or move 50–75 pounds.
- Must be able to work normal day hours (generally 6 am – 6 pm), averaging 40 to 50 hours a week, with occasional Saturday and Sunday work required.
- Must have basic equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- Ability to oversee and train other personnel.
- Must be able to work independently with a strong sense of detail.
- Must be capable of distinguishing between safe and unsafe conditions.
- Must be able to delegate tasks to others and work well in a team environment.
- Must read and comprehend documents such as scale tickets, SDS sheets, equipment manuals, and the company safety manual.
- Basic computer skills required.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic math for inventory counting or order completion.
- Ability to follow work direction and apply common sense to simple instructions.
