Job Overview
The University of the District of Columbia (UDC), a public land grant institution, seeks a part‑time, temporary Medical‑Surgical Nursing instructor to teach courses, assess technical and clinical competencies, and submit course data.
Responsibilities- Provide laboratory and clinical instruction.
- Teach assigned clinical courses as specified in the schedule and course contract.
- Recruit, advise, and assist with the retention of students; answer student inquiries (emails) in a timely manner.
- Engage in scholarly activities and community services.
- Teach clinical during the day, evening, and/or weekend; may include more than one campus site.
- Attend all meetings, ceremonies, and official functions as specified by the Chief Academic Officer, Chief Community College Officer and/or Dean.
- Attend orientation sessions to become familiar with the institution’s mission, teaching philosophy, policies, procedures, and learning management system.
- Adhere to and fulfill all ACEN standards; assist in developing an effective means of assessing student learning outcomes in accordance with ACEN standards.
- Adhere to university policies and guidelines in all matters concerning academics, student and staff conduct.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a clinical focus in Pediatric Nursing.
- Registered or eligible for license in District of Columbia.
- Recent clinical and teaching experience.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and an understanding of program objectives.
Temporary employment may be ended at any time with or without cause.
Due to the temporary nature of this appointment, the position is ineligible for benefits.
