Job Summary

Medication Technician supports resident care, ensuring that residents’ daily medication needs are met in a compassionate and dignified manner.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately follow the resident MAR to ensure medications are given according to physicians’ orders.
  • Understand and apply the six rights of medication administration and all Bickford policies and procedures regarding medication management.
  • Use the eMAR system for medication administration.
  • Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
  • Provide direct resident care and supervise non‑licensed team members as appropriate.
  • Lead by demonstrating the Bickford Mission “Whatever it Takes” to all team members on shift.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in senior care.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to take additional training or education required by specific states.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Good judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn Bickford’s eMAR system.
