Job Summary
The Step Down Unit registered nurse position is based in a facility located in Hastings, Nebraska. This role involves providing specialized patient care on a unit that manages patients transitioning from intensive care but requiring close monitoring and complex treatments. The RN will apply clinical skills and knowledge to deliver high‑quality care to adult patients with various diagnoses.
Job Details- Schedule:
12‑hour shifts, 7:00 AM‑7:00 PM and 7:00 PM‑7:00 AM, minimum 36 hours per week. - Specialty:

Travel - Required Qualifications:
Active ACLS and BLS certifications, NIHSS, PALS, at least 2 years of relevant experience, licensure to practice as a registered nurse. - Proficiency with chest tubes, arrhythmia identification, cardioversions, TEEs, post‑heart cath patients, defibrillator operation, pain management, and PPE use.
- Titration of drips including Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Lasix, electrolytes, dobutamine, and dopamine.
- Occasional care for pediatric patients may be required; pediatric RN coverage is available.
- Unit equipment: telemetry monitors, CPAP, BiPAP, and RNs read their own strips.
- Staffing includes nurse aides and charge nurses; float assignments may include coverage in medical‑surgical units.
- Dress code: any solid‑color scrub, no designs or prints.
- Orientation: two days of unit‑specific training plus a shift on the floor.
- Travelers are expected to work every third weekend, with flexibility for holidays, which are generally rotated every three weeks.
- No call or standby requirements.
