Shift:
7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:- 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
- 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
- Experience with Epic is preferred.
- Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).
- This role may require floating to additional units and locations
- Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
- COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
- No current placement allowed at Program:
Medical Solutions Plus Program - Mary Lanning Healthcare.
Pre-employment modules may be required for this role.
Additional Details:References:
At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Experience:
Chest tube experience preferred.
Charge nurse experience preferred.
No self-scheduling; block scheduling can be accommodated as much as possible. Travelers will fill in gaps on the first schedule.
Unit Details:Common patient population includes dementia, post-surgical, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer, and COVID patients.
Common care includes pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care.
Unit does not titrate drips.
Charge nurse takes patients; travelers may be asked to work charge if experienced.
CPAP is used on the unit, with RT managing.
Telemetry is available on the floor; monitor techs read.
Every other weekend.
Every 3rd holiday; expect to work one of the winter holidays.
No routine call; call is only assigned if a traveler requests a scheduled shift off or volunteers to cancel.
Can float to PCU, taking Med Surg overflow or very low-acuity PCU patients.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
