- 7 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms
- 2 triage rooms
- A dedicated Cesarean-section operating room located within the unit
Guided by a midwifery model of care, our team supports approximately 300 births annually.
The Nurse Manager will lead a highly engaged team of 15 to 25 registered nurses and play a key role in advancing clinical excellence, patient experience, quality outcomes, and team development. While Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with demonstrated leadership experience, including Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, or similar progressive leadership roles.
Scope of workAssumes 24-hour accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services unit of the hospital.
Develop policies, procedures, and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are always provided to all customers. Assures presence of a supportive and healthy work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity.
Key responsibilities include unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, human resource development, performance improvement, supports a culture of safety and maintenance of interprofessional collaborative relationships.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in nursing Required.
- Master's degree in nursing Preferred.
- 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.
- 1 year of relevant demonstrated informal leadership experience required for internal applicants, may include but are not limited to:
Charge Lead Nurse, Charge Nurse responsibilities, leadership on behalf of unit/site/system at Shared Governance Council Required. - MI Registered Nurse license Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
- AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required within six months.
Note:
Nurse Managers in inpatient and outpatient units are required to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire into the role.
