** Job Summary*
* The Light Duty Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts, skid steers, and other light construction equipment in support of daily project activities. This role assists with material handling, site logistics, snow removal, light earthwork, and rigging operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The Light Duty Equipment Operator works closely with site supervision and other equipment operators to support construction activities and ensure materials and equipment are moved efficiently throughout the job site.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Operate forklifts to load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from delivery trucks.

+ Transport dumpsters, construction materials, and other job site assets using forklifts and similar equipment.

+ Move and place jersey barriers and other traffic control devices as directed.

+ Operate skid steers and other light-duty equipment to perform site support activities.

+ Assist with snow and ice removal operations, including plowing, pushing snow, and spreading salt or sand as needed.

+ Perform gravel spreading, site grading, and other light earthwork tasks using a skid steer or similar equipment.

+ Perform light rigging activities involving small loads and materials.

+ Assist telehandler operators by preparing, securing, and guiding loads for safe transport and placement.

+ Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervision.

+ Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

+ Support general construction activities and perform other duties as assigned to meet project needs.

** Qualifications*
* + High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

+ Previous experience operating forklifts, skid steers, or other light construction equipment preferred.

+ Valid equipment certifications or the ability to obtain required certifications preferred.

+ Knowledge of safe material handling, rigging, and equipment operating practices.

+ Ability to read and follow site safety procedures, work instructions, and equipment operating guidelines.

+ Strong attention to safety and the ability to work effectively in an active construction environment.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and subcontractors.

+ Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

+ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

+ Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the workday.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

+ Position requires on-site work; relocation assistance and per diem are not offered.
