Overview
Job Title: Consulting Pension Actuary
Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 + Bonus
Experience Level: Senior / Experienced
Employment Type: Full-Time
About The Role
:
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented pension actuary. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical background, an interest in improving internal processes, and a drive to deliver high-quality service in a collaborative environment. You’ll contribute to ongoing projects while developing into a key leader.
- Oversee and enhance processes related to pension valuation and reporting
- Perform technical reviews of actuarial deliverables to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Lead the preparation of client-facing materials, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and consistency
- Coordinate project timelines, manage client expectations, and track milestones
- Provide strategic advice on plan design, funding, compliance, and forecasting
- Conduct in-depth actuarial analysis and scenario modeling for complex benefit structures
- Stay current on evolving regulations and industry best practices, sharing insights with the team
- Multiemployer pension plan valuations
- Government filings and compliance reporting (e.g., Form 5500, Zone Status certifications)
- Individual benefit calculations, including QDROs, late retirements, RASDs, and more
- Financial projections and funded status forecasting
- Preparation and review of plan amendments, SPDs, and official plan documentation
- Regulatory analysis and its application to plan operations and design
- 5+ years of experience in pension consulting, preferably with multiemployer plans
- Credentialed actuary (EA, ASA, or FSA strongly preferred)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with actuarial modeling software such as Pro Val is a plus
