What you'll be doing
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programs
- Plan machining operations from engineering drawings and specifications
- Select tooling, inserts, work holding, feeds, and speeds
- Perform complete CNC lathe setups and set tooling and work offsets
- Safely prove out new and existing programs
- Complete first-piece inspections and make necessary corrections
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues
- Improve cycle times and process reliability
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
Machines, controls and software
CNC lathes, including mill-turn (lathe with milling) capability, running Fanuc and Haas controls with Mastercam CAM programming.
What we're looking for
Required:
- Previous CNC lathe programming and setup experience
- Ability to independently take a part from blueprint to production
- Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC turning processes
- Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills
- Experience working with close tolerances
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and work holding
Preferred:
- Experience with live tooling, sub-spindles, or Y-axis turning
- CAD/CAM programming experience (Mastercam)
Pay, benefits and schedule
Pay is up to $40 per hour, full-time. DPI Inc. offers health insurance, PTO, a Simple IRA, ongoing training, employee lunches and outings, and a fully air-conditioned facility.
