CNC Lathe Operator
DPI Inc. is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to join our precision machining team.
This position is a good fit for someone with CNC machining experience who is comfortable operating production equipment, inspecting their own work, and maintaining consistent quality. This is primarily an operator position — advanced programming experience is not required.
We manufacture precision components for customers in aerospace, defense, industrial, cryogenic, and other demanding industries. We are looking for someone dependable who takes pride in producing good parts and keeping machines running efficiently.
Responsibilities- Operate CNC lathes to produce precision machined components
- Load and unload parts, raw material, and tooling as required
- Follow established CNC programs, setup sheets, routers, work instructions, and drawings
- Perform routine in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and other measuring equipment
- Make basic tool wear or dimensional offset adjustments when trained and authorized
- Monitor tooling, coolant, chip evacuation, and machine condition during production
- Identify dimensional, tooling, or process problems and notify the appropriate machinist or supervisor
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organized
- Follow company quality procedures and customer requirements
- Stop production and report any suspected nonconforming product or process condition
- Previous CNC lathe operating experience
- Ability to read basic blueprints and manufacturing drawings
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment
- Basic understanding of machining tolerances and part inspection
- Experience in a precision machine shop or manufacturing environment
