Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Quality Engineer, you'll collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop quality systems, inspection methods, and process improvements that ensure precision components consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and improve inspection plans, quality plans, control plans, and inspection methodologies
- Create and maintain First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspection documentation
- Program and validate CMM inspection routines
- Develop inspection strategies for complex precision-machined components
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure manufacturability and inspection feasibility
- Perform root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Support CAPA activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze SPC, Cp, and Cpk data to improve process capability
- Assist with implementation of statistical inspection methods
- Review production documentation for Quality Management System compliance
- Ensure documentation complies with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Develop process controls that reduce variation and improve production quality
- Assist with implementation of new inspection technologies and software improvements
- Research and recommend improvements to inspection processes and metrology systems
- Mentor and support manufacturing personnel on quality planning and inspection best practices
- Develop quality plans that support consistent, customer-approved production.
- Improve process capability through data-driven quality improvements.
- Partner with Engineering and Production to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Deliver accurate inspection plans, CMM programs, and quality documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement across quality systems and processes.
- Ensure precision components meet customer and industry quality standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline OR equivalent manufacturing quality experience
- Minimum five (5) years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience developing quality plans and inspection plans
- Strong knowledge of CMM inspection methods
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cp, and Cpk
- Experience supporting production machining environments
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- OGP optical inspection systems
- Keyence vision inspection systems
- ISO 13485
- AS9100
- FDA 21 CFR Part 11
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma methodologies
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D)
- CAPA
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Work at computer workstations and inspection equipment for prolonged periods.
- Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers, measuring equipment, and inspection tools.
- Read engineering drawings, inspection reports, and electronic data.
- Distinguish fine visual details during inspection activities.
- Occasionally bend, reach, kneel, or stoop while inspecting manufactured components.
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment around CNC machining equipment
