We are seeking applicants to work as an Assistant to the Director in the School of Criminal Justice, Forensic Science and Security. Job Summary
This position assists the Director with the operational management, budgetary, and administrative activities of the School of Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Security. The role provides comprehensive support across academic, financial, personnel, facilities, and student-related functions to ensure efficient and compliant School operations. Working closely with the Director, the position coordinates communications and outreach with internal and external stakeholders and supports data reporting, assessment, and planning efforts.
The position also oversees budget and resource management and facilitates personnel processes, recruitment activities, and academic scheduling in alignment with University policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Provides administrative, operational, and strategic support to the School Director, including representing the School on University committees, supporting outreach initiatives, and assisting with planning and coordination of School activities.
* Coordinates communications and engagement with alumni, donors, advisory council members, community and industry partners, and prospective students, including planning and participating in School events, which may occur during evenings or weekends and may require occasional travel.
* Develops, collects, analyzes, and reports institutional data and metrics (including Helio and other reporting tools) to support assessment, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
* Manages and monitors the School's operating budgets and financial processes, including budget planning and reconciliation, expenditure tracking, personnel accounts, course fee audits, Foundation transactions, and processing financial, travel, and purchasing documents through University systems.
* Serves as the primary liaison for facilities, inventory, and building operations, overseeing inventory control and audits, coordinating maintenance and lab support, ordering supplies, submitting work orders, and ensuring classrooms, labs, and technology function effectively.
* Oversees personnel, academic, and student support operations under the Director's supervision, including HR and hiring processes, onboarding and offboarding, credentialing, supervision of student employees, recruitment and retention activities, course scheduling and enrollment management, and oversight of the School's website and communications. Supervises student employees and Graduate Assistants.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
