Applications for Adjunct Faculty will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed as needed. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).
Job SummaryThis part-time adjunct faculty position requires teaching in-person undergraduate courses in the Athletic Training degree program on an as needed basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Face-to-face and/or online course delivery and instruction.
- Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
- Communicate with other program and school-level faculty.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Master's Degree or higher in Athletic Training or a related field
- Mississippi state license or eligible
- Ability to teach effectively, according to University standards, in the undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training programs
- Criminal history and background check clearance
- Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Health Professions
- Specialized knowledge in the field of Athletic Training as demonstrated by national certification.
- Candidates should have the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
- Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.
- Candidates should have the ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Teaching, mentoring, and/or service experience at the university level.
- Professional experience in Athletic Training.
- Experience with USM's Learning Management System, Canvas.
