Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilitating continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes in the plant facility. Also develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for set‑up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and teaches others the proper use of this equipment.
Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non‑financial objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive, hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience. A minimum of one year HVAC Plant Continuous Improvement Manager experience is preferred.
- Experience in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of formal problem‑solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing.
- Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is required.
- In the absence of a fourth‑degree in engineering, a minimum of seven to ten years of experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and internet software and email.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required for plant layout;
Autodesk Inventor knowledge is desired. - Employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
