ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support current manufacturing and facilities for manufacturing methods and processes in plant.
  • Develop solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
  • Develop new processes, design tooling and machinery, and develop production controls for new products and programs.
  • Set up new equipment, ensure its proper operation, and train others on its use.
  • Apply sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria at lowest expense while aligning with facilities financial and non‑financial objectives.
  • Review specifications, bid proposals, and cost estimate requests to establish feasibility of accepting orders.
  • Determine manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules.
  • Justify capital, design and select CNC/Programming, tool design and related equipment.
  • Manage capital equipment planning and procurement activities.
  • Develop processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervise assembly and proofing.
  • Proficient in Thing Works, Kepware, and Ladder Logic; maintain, operate, and troubleshoot manufacturing support software.
  • Plan, justify, and implement facility changes to produce forecasted volume of product economically.
  • Provide technical assistance to plant including Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, and Safety.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing.
  • Resolve manufacturing issues and lead production support.
  • Lead 5S activities.
  • Participate in and lead Kaizen events.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to visualize and design work in 2D and 3D.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work within fast‑paced, schedule‑driven, team‑oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive, hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year HVAC experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of formal problem‑solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing.
  • Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • In the absence of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years experience is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and e‑mail is required.
