Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

• Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilities associated with manufacturing methods and processes in the plant facility. Also develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for setup of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and teaches others the proper use of this equipment.
  
  Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non‑financial objectives.
• Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders. Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules.
• Responsible for Capital justification, CNC/Programming, Tool Design and Selection.
• Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities.
• Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
• Proficient in Thing Works, Kepware, Ladder Logic.
• Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software.
• Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically.
• Provides technical assistance to the plant including Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, and Safety.
• Supports Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing.
• Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues.
• Supports and leads 5S activities.
• Participates in and leads Kaizen events.

• Ability to visualize and design work in 2D and 3D.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work within fast‑paced, schedule‑driven, team‑oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software is preferred.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) of progressive, hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience. A minimum of one (1) year HVAC experience is preferred. This position also requires knowledge of formal problem‑solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing. Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required.

In the absence of a four (4) year degree in engineering, a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E‑mail is required.
